(AP) A 5-month-old infant died from hypoxemia after being airlifted from her hospital room to a nursing home in the city of Spokane, the Spokane County medical examiner said Thursday.

The baby’s parents were in Spokane when they learned of the girl’s condition and rushed to the hospital, according to the report.

The infant was pronounced dead at the hospital by emergency medical technicians.

The cause of death was listed as a sudden death.

Authorities have not released details about the cause of the infant’s death.

The report does not say how long the baby was in the nursing home or what happened after she was taken to a facility.

The Spokane County coroner’s office was notified of the baby’s death and sent out a bulletin to its employees Thursday morning, the county health department said.

No further details about her condition were immediately available.

The infant was taken into custody Thursday afternoon.
