Posted June 08, 2018 07:53:18 Georgia quarterback Jalen Hurd is headed back to the SEC opener after having surgery to repair a torn labrum in his right shoulder.

The injury occurred when Hurts was hit by a defender in the second quarter of the Bulldogs’ 41-13 win over Mississippi State on Saturday.

“I just got a little bit of a scare, but that’s not something I need to worry about right now,” Hurts said Monday.

We’ll see how this goes.” “

We’re just going to be patient with it and hopefully get through it.

We’ll see how this goes.”

The Bulldogs (2-1) are on the road for the first time this season against Mississippi State (0-1).

The Bulldogs’ defense held the Bulldogs to just four points in the first half, but Hurts rushed for 69 yards on 15 carries.

“The most important thing right now is to stay positive and we’ll go out there and be great for our fans,” coach Kirby Smart said.

“Jalen has been playing really well, but we have to be careful not to make too many mistakes.

It’s really tough, but I think he’s got to stay focused.”
